About Cheri
Cheri Frame works as an Educational Consultant, helping college-bound students and their families realize their options to earn college credit while in high school, making college more affordable. She specializes in understanding credit-by-exam programs through CLEP® and DSST®. Presenting workshops through local co-ops and conferences, she speaks on: implementing cost-effective and time-efficient options in students’ high school course of study, creating a 4-year plan, earning college credits through CLEP® and DSST®, and maximizing opportunities available through the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum as part of Minnesota’s PSEO program. She also provides affordable one-on-one consulting services and shares a wealth of information and resources on her website www.CreditsBeforeCollege.com.
Cheri and her public-school-teacher husband Tim live in Ramsey, MN. They have homeschooled their three children from kindergarten to college. When her children were moving into the middle school years, Cheri began researching options for college that would not strain their family’s finances or put the burden of years of debt on their children. She firmly believes that college debt severely limits future opportunities, closing doors to options that students would otherwise explore. As a result, her oldest son graduated in 2011 and her daughter in 2012, both taking advantage of earning college credit with CLEP®, DSST® and PSEO. This enabled them to earn their college degrees early and for under $10,000. She remains dedicated to helping other families achieve this same success.
Besides teaching her own children, Cheri has taught at local homeschool co-ops for many years and worked as a substitute teacher at a school in Indonesia while serving on a one-year mission’s trip with her family. For eight years, Cheri served as an Independent Administrator of the Peabody Academic Achievement Test, providing testing and consulting services to families. She received her degree in Psychology as well as Local and Urban Affairs from St. Cloud State University. After choosing to home educate, she completed coursework in Gifted and Talented Learning, and takes an interest in applying varied teaching methods to different learning styles of students. Her goal is to help those within her circle-of-influence to live up to their calling and realize the dreams God gives each one of them.
Dream Job: (I think I have found I am already doing it!) To work within an organization to affect grassroots change in the way families have access to and view higher education ~ making college more affordable to students; helping students avoid debt, helping students develop and define their direction BEFORE graduating high school; helping them understand and leverage their options; provide information so they are self-motivated to achieve a path of purpose.
